Trio of 10th-place Midget finishes during California swing

Ryan Timms made the haul to Thunderbowl Raceway (Tulare, Cali.) on Thursday afternoon to pilot the Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports No. 67 Midget for the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship opener.

Entering the event in third in the latest point standings, Timms rocketed into the opener with a runner-up showing in his heat race. Pinned on the eighth row, Ryan navigated forward six positions in the 30-lap affair to claim a 10th-place finish.

After persistent rain forced Merced (CA) Speedway officials to postpone Friday and Saturday’s programs to a Sunday double, Ryan joined 32 USAC Midget entries at the quarter-mile oval for the Midget Madness. Racing into both features with third-place heat finishes, Timms capped off the weekend with a pair of 10th-place runs.

Timms is currently fourth in the latest USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship point standings.
