Timms second best in Knoxville visit May 9
Although recent Knoxville Raceway winner Ryan Timms was unable to repeat success on Saturday, May 9, the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, native did the next best thing and concluded action as the runner-up, falling just behind former track champion and Altoona native Austin McCarl. Timms, the reigning Knoxville Nationals champion, commenced Knoxville's main event from sixth on the grid, making moves early before a "rubber down" surface set in halting any additional progress.
The young Sooner opened Knoxville competition with a heat race victory; he was second-quick in group one.
Timms' upcoming weekend schedule will consist of return visits to Knoxville Raceway and Huset's Speedway on Saturday and Sunday, May 16-17.
