Timms one position shy of Chili Bowl Nationals A-Main appearance
"Flyin" Ryan Timms did everything he could to qualify for Saturday's 55-lap Chili Bowl Nationals A-Main, but unfortunately, the young man out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was one position short, finishing eighth in the second of two B-Mains with only seven making the cut. An impressive effort, nonetheless, Timms started 19th in the second of two B-Mains, earning his way into the 20-lap program after transferring through Saturday's second C-Main - finishing fifth with five advancing on.
With Saturday's program stretching deep into the alphabet, and with over 400 total entries making the call for this year's Chili Bowl, Timms' B-Main appearance was a massive feat, opening his week-long campaign with an A-Main appearance in Tuesday's preliminary main event; he finished 11th.
